Domaine Richot

What our guests have said...

We have been renting 'La Tonnellerie' for the past eight years, and L'Entrepôt for five, and after each stay we have asked our guests to rate the facilities, detailing what improvements we should make. We take all feedback very seriously and try to address issues as they arise.

We had the most wonderful stay at Le Domaine Richot ... The quiet village of Aubepierre was a great antedote to our hectic family life. It was peaceful with beautiful walks in all directions and great cycling to encourage the novice and the professional....For a family with teenagers there were various activities in easy reach (high ropes, water park etc) or for those wanting to relax the gardens and pool were the perfect place to unwind. Our accomodation L'Entrepot had eveything we might need and we really did have the most relaxing holiday yet. Please go and discover this gite for yourself!

We really loved La Tonnellerie, great proportions, beautifully presented and lovely little touches. The gardens are awesome, the playground was a perfect post-dinner wind down for the kids and the pool was perfect!

Baxter, August 2017, La Tonnellerie

I liked the little touches of having fresh flowers in the rooms and the good quality bed linen and towels.

We were all very sad to leave Aubierre-sur-Aube this morning. What lovely accommodation and a charming village. I hope one day we can come back. Thanks so much for letting us stay there. It literally was the perfect set up for us and our respective children who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Branson & Meade, July 2017, both houses

Sarah and Tim's place is idyllic.. it offers the perfect getaway for anyone looking for relaxation time with super facilities on site (the outdoor pool is just perfect)- combined with very pretty surroundings.

Their local housekeeper is hugely welcoming and energetic, as are Sarah and Tim if they happen to be staying on site; nothing was too much to ask. Thanks for a lovely break!

Our family (3 adults, 2 kids + dog) stayed at L'Entrepot for the Easter holidays and had a lovely time. The house was well equipped, clean and very comfortable - a real home from home, full of rustic French charm.  The large gardens were safe, well maintained and provided plenty of space for the kids to run around and play.  The pool area looked lovely tho a bit too chilly in April to make full use of it.  Set in a quiet village with lots of river & woodland walks on the doorstep, and quiet roads for cycling. Lots to see and do within an hours drive, would love to go back.

We've had a fantastic time! The house and grounds are gorgeous. It was very nice to find fresh flowers and a bottle of fizz on arrival. We were also very grateful for the bakery items and vegetables that Catherine brought. The fruit and vegetables from the garden were delicious and the kids loved using the bikes… we were amazed how many you had!

Hartshorn, August 2016, La Tonnellerie

Probably the best self-catering I've stayed in over our last 6 years of staying in France - and a big hit with our 11 year old daughter. We stayed in La Tonellerie - very clean, peaceful and charming, with constant hot water and a good supply of thick towels! Some fantastic cultural sites to visit nearby - Troyes, Chaumont, Langres, Fontenay, etc... plus Lake Liez for pedal boats. The village is very friendly, restaurants in Arc en Barois are just right - relaxed with good local food. Above all Sarah and Tim are incredibly helpful and solicitous."

Hayes, July 2016, La Tonnellerie

We were especially impressed with the continuous supply of hot water and the very comfortable beds. Both houses were well maintained and clean. The grounds were very impressive and the pool fantastic.

Ferguson, August 2015, La Tonnellerie & L'Entrepôt

We also really enjoyed the food and drink (the Seafood Pizza with Mussels was the best my wife had ever had) and the steaks (and some other cuts of meat) from the butcher in Arc-en-Barrois were pretty damned good too when cooked on the bar-b-que; as was the Choue beer!

Diprose, August 2015, La Tonnellerie

It was by far our best holiday in France. The Gite was lovely - very well-proportioned and well fitted out. The pool was a really good size (and larger than most we’ve seen). The grounds were lovely, and it was a treat to be able to pick fruit from the trees.

I guess the best sign of whether it was a good holiday was that we were very sad to leave (in fact the kids were gutted and wanted to stay longer!)

Hamilton, August 2015, L'Entrepôt

We had such a lovely week-thank you. The house was immaculate, beautiful, and so well appointed. It makes such a difference, especially with small children, when you arrive and everything you need is there (it's the little things like fairy liquid, teabags and loo paper that count!) You really had gone the extra mile to make us feel welcome - the house, grounds, climbing frame etc.. really exceeded our expectation so thank you.

Turnbull, July 2015, L'Entrepôt

The house itself is charming but the gardens, particularly the pool and treehouse, make it a perfect place to spend some time relaxing in the french countryside. Your recommendations in the local area were spot on. We had great meals in Arc en Barrois and Langres and have stocked up the cellar at both Moutard and Domaine Brigand.

Your property is wonderful and one of the best we have stayed in anywhere in France. We hope to return in the future

Dunstan, June 2015, La Tonnellerie

The house was great, even better than we had expected....We really appreciated the good quality bedding and towels! ( much better than in other gites we have stayed before)

Ridding, June 2014, in 'L'Entrepôt'

The garden (I should say gardens) are delightful and the pool everything you would hope for.

White, June 2014 'La Tonnellerie'

We loved our time in Aubepierre especially staying in such a beautiful house! It was amazing, on arrival we had all we needed, and felt at home very quickly, the kids were in heaven in the gardens and there was so much to do!

Barr, May 2014 in 'L'Entrepôt'

Everything was fantastic in the house and we would recommend it to friends if they were visiting the area.

Galbraith Sept 2013 in 'L'Entrepôt'

Everything we looked for in the kitchen was there and the quality of the crockery/pots and pans/bed linen and towels etc was excellent, the upkeep of the gardens was also excellent. We also loved being able to pop down to Coco's to get our bread and have an afternoon beer!

Devine, Sept 2013 in 'La Tonnellerie'

It is hard to explain why the house is so perfect but it comes down to the fact that you can absolutely relax while you are there and also feel that you are living in sync with local people, doing what they do and that for me was fantastic. It was very "real life". The pizza man, Nathalie the vegetable lady, the wonderful lady in the Coco bar who got out the journal for me and showed me what was on at night locally, the lady in the Coq d'Argent were all superb and I could go on!

Loudon, June 2013 in 'La Tonnellerie'

We all had an absolutely wonderful time and will have fond memories of Aubepierre! You have inspired us with your beautiful home and French lifestyle so we have been poring over French property magazines ever since.

Gale, Aug 2012

We loved the pool, and the comfortable sun loungers, the gardens, the privacy, the French country chic interiors - the interesting areas and options for sitting and eating. We loved being part of the village and the pace of village life.

Coburn, July 2012

...an excellent pool and impressive  pool side furniture. The TV , pans etc. were all bought for the property, not cast-offs.

Jewsbury, Aug 2011

For a small village it is very well-served,plus the additional nearby facilities in Arc meant we did not have to go far or to big supermarkets to get what we needed.

Mardell, July 2011

We had a fabulous break and loved Catherine (our caretaker), she is wonderful and worth her weight in gold, and really developed my schoolboy french better than 10 years of trips to France!

Savage, Aug 2010

Peace and quiet and the sense of authenticity.  You have a great property in a super location for a very relaxing holiday.  I would recommend it without reservation to family and friends if they were interested in coming to your area of France.
